Mammoth "Ancestors" Enamel Amulet

The "ancestors" collection was inspired by the Chauvet Cave located in Vallon Pont D'arc Ardèche, near my former residence. This Paleolithic cave is very special; its walls contain one of the most impressive examples of pre-Columbian art in the world, with paintings dating back more than 30,000 years that depict approximately 14 different animal species. I collected 6 of these in this collection: the mammoth, the deer, the lion, the horse, the bear, and the bison.

The animals were created from pieces cut from copper, enameled in the oven, separating the legs from the trunk and then assembled with silver rivets; all the bodies have a different movement and color on each side.

This mammoth was designed with the idea of accompanying you as an amulet or object on your desk or bedside table to decorate or to remind you of the inexorable nature of the passage of time with its very ancient existence.
